Prepare for your event.
Prior to the event we recommend you try and get some miles in your legs. Hitting this cold will not make it enjoyable and you will more than likely hurt yourself.
We are not experts in this and everyone is unique but most advice is that you start to build up your miles/kilometres a month prior to the event. Getting a core base of miles in your legs and getting your body ready for the event is essential.
If you have any pains or niggles we strongly suggest a bike fit. Bike fitting is a set of measurements from a trained expert and they will then alter your bike to suit you. We recommend Yorkshire Bike Fitting.
If your bike needs a service then you need to get it booked in before this event, similarly if its been stood in a garden shed or garage for a while. We suggest you get this checked out by your local bike shop. They will ensure your bike is safe. We recommend Chevin Cycles Limited or you can look at independent individuals such as Hopey Bike Repairs who will come to your home.
Ensure you prepare in advance. Every year we have been extremely lucky to have sunshine. So ensure you have water bottles filled and suncream ready.
