When launching the Leeds Lumen we took a risk not knowing what the audience would be for such an event. We have had few numbers sign up for this event and have had to cancel. This is something we will look at introducing in 2016.
We introduce one of our new events for 2015. This we are sure will become a classic ride, which is added to individuals diaries year on year.
Starting from Leeds City Centre, cyclists will take part in this night time ride across to Filey, North Yorkshire. Arriving in time to watch the sunrise across the coast line.
We hope to have on arrival coffee, beer and bacon butties.
This event is self supported. This means we require you to be wholly self sufficient. Our back up car will carry spares but will not repair your bike. This is down to you to do.
Half way round we will have a coffee van for you to buy some freshly ground coffee, before heading off to Filey.
The route is a total of 90 miles. A significant ride, but one that will be very rewarding.
Our charge is for the organisation of this, and making the event viable. Riders will be expected to carry money to pay for their half way coffee and finish point beverages.
Riders are expected to be self sufficient, this includes knowing the route. We will not be providing any signage for the event, but will provide a very high level map. We expect that you use the route, or download the GPS file to a GPS device.
We expect all riders to wear a helmet, and have lights on both the front and rear which will last the period required. It may require you to have two lights. We will have a single broom wagon, which will carry spares. The driver will not fit any spares, and will only provide limited retrieval.
Upon registration you will be asked if you want to buy return transport. This will cost £30 per person and includes return transport of your bike. We are not liable for any damage to any bike, we ask that you ensure that you insure it in full.
Cost of Event: £10 + admin fee
Cost of Return Transport: £30
